Located off the A508 North of Northampton, the former Northampton to Market Harborough Railway is now a beautiful car-free trail forming part of Route 6 of the National Cycle Network.
The Brampton Valley Way is also rich in local history and was the source of much inspiration for the famous countryside writer, D.J. Watkins Pitchford (Alias B.B.). Superb railway features remain such as the tunnels at Kelmarsh or Oxendon. The Northampton and Lamport Railway Society also operates train rides on a short section of re-constructed line at the former Pitsford and Brampton station.
